There have been three revisions of the Shimmer platform to date, with a number of differences between the various versions from the hardware and form factor, to features and functionality.
So what does this mean for Shimmer users … firstly – the hardware is forward compatible, but one of the main points to be aware of is that you need to compile the application for the correct platform in TinyOS. This is to ensure your application runs correctly on your revision of the Shimmer platform.
