Description

The Shimmer GPS expansion module (daughter-board) provides accurate location and global time data for a vast array of Shimmer sensing applications with minimal software development. This is combined with ambient data via a pressure/temperature sensor integrated onto the GPS daughter-board. When combined with the Shimmer platform’s integrated accelerometer the assembled unit provides MEMS sensor technology and along with an embedded GPS receiver, ambient temperature, and barometric pressure sensing. GPS data is in NMEA format, and provides high position, accurate speed and course over ground, and high sensitivity for optimal performance in urban conditions.
