The TRIL (Technology Research for Independent Living) Centre is a coordinated collection of research projects addressing the physical, cognitive and social consequences of ageing, all informed by ethnographic research and supported by a shared pool of knowledge and engineering resources.

This week we are in Boston and have a very full agenda! On Monday & Tuesday we will be running the first U.S. based SHIMMER Training Course. On Tuesday afternoon we move across town to Harvard Medical to present at the IEEE workshop as described in the post below.
Following on from our recent joining of the Continua Alliance we will then be attending the Continua Fall Summit 2009. The summit will be held at Harvard Medical and runs from Wednesday 29th to Friday 31st of October. We are really looking forward to our first Continua Summit. It will be a great opportunity to engage with like minded companies who are working to advance the connected personal health ecosystem.

Dr. Catalin Caranfil, Lead Technologist here at SHIMMER Research will be presenting at the Center for Connected Health Symposium 2008 to be held at Harvard Medical in Cambridge Mass. The theme of this years event, sponsored by Partners Healthcare is “Who Provides, Who Decides, Who Pays: Consumers, Clinicians and Business Models in the Connected Care Era”. The event will be held over two days on the 27/28th of October.
On Tuesday afternoon at 2:45 in the Bray room, Catalin will be giving an overview of SHIMMER as well as showing some demos of the platform in action.
