Biophysical

With modules to sense and wirelessly transmit Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electromyography (EMG), and Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) Shimmer allows users to develop a range of physiological, biofeedback, and event detection applications. Unlike many wireless biophysical sensors, Shimmer allows users to tailor how the data in sensed, perform onboard processing, and define how and when the data in transmitted. The raw data is provided, and is not associated with any proprietary software, meaning Shimmer is ideal for meeting specific product development and application requirements.

Applications

Shimmer’s biophysical modules have been used in a number of patient monitoring, rehabilitation, stress measurement, and event detection applications. Beyond the healthcare and remote patient monitoring applications, the Shimmer biophysical modules have been utilised in diverse range of areas including marketing/advertising research, sports performance and athlete development, biofeedback and human computer interaction.
