Along with wearable motion and biophysical applications, Shimmer also enables engagement and interaction with your surroundings. With the modules including PIR, GPS, Vibration, Temperature, and Barometric Pressure Shimmer allows you to sense, engage, monitor and wirelessly interact with the world around you.

Applications

Shimmer’s ambient modules have a broad range of applications, from occupancy sensing, to environmental and marine monitoring. The PIR module is efficient at monitoring movements, and movement pattern whilst the GPS allows for effective tracking of people and objects. Incorporated into the GPS is a Barometric Pressure sensor which is also capable of acting as a temperature sensor to allow for greater use in environmental applications.
